Justine Ashbee

shbee developed the technique of weaving with metal during her studies in textile design at RISD. Her work focuses on illustrating the vibrations and sensations that we feel and yet cannot see. Whether she is shaping her woven metal sheets into the pillowy brass clouds for this project, or free handing her striking line drawings, Justine works intuitively to develop organic forms with a very cosmic vibe.

Justine fashioned a career through her line drawings, from which she took a hiatus to open a Seattle arts and culture spot, Cairo. She has since left Cairo to return to her wave inspired artwork.  After spending several months in the desert of Southwest, the landscape that most speaks to her, her light inspired visions unravel in new woven forms.
