
Mark Titus
Award winning screenwriter, Mark Titus is the principal owner of August Island Pictures in Seattle. Mr. Titus studied at The University of Oregon’s actor training program then moved to Seattle in 1995, where he worked as an actor. In 1997 the wilds of Alaska called and Titus spent seven summers working as a wilderness fishing guide. During that time, he finished five feature screenplays including T S O N O Q U A (The Wild Woman), winner of the 2004 Washington State Screenplay Competition.
In 2001, Mr. Titus completed an intensive directing program at the Vancouver Film School. The four short films he wrote, directed or produced since then have screened at over 25 film festivals worldwide. Two of the films Titus produced secured international distribution deals in 2008. Cheryl Slean’s Diggers, winner of the 2005 Seattle IFP Spotlight Award, premiered at the 2007 Seattle International Film Festival and signed with Ouat Media in September 2008. Justin McGowan’s Knowing the Game inked its deal with MiniMovie in January 2008 - premiering at The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in 2007.
Since 2006, Mr. Titus has written, directed and produced brand films for clients like: Amazon, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nordstrom, T-Mobile, The University of Washington, United Nations Development Programme, Washington’s Lottery and World Vision.
In 2010 Mark Titus wrote and directed “We Are All Players,” a commercial promoting global awareness of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. The spot featured international soccer stars, Didier Drogba and Zinedine Zidane and premiered at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It has since been broadcast on cable and in theatres worldwide.
Mr. Titus currently has two feature films in development: TSONOQUA (The Wild Woman), a supernatural thriller – and The Breach, a documentary about wild, Pacific salmon.
