After 12 years of playing in countless bands in varying genres as a hired hand, I decided to write my own music. It started in the rundown kitchen of 13th and Jefferson and may someday end there. Rabia and I were drunk on a slow night and wanted to entertain our dear friend, April. So, I started playing some songs I wrote and since they didn't have words yet. Rabia and I improvised by reading ingredients from random food boxes left laying around the kitchen. We enjoyed making music together so much that we eventually recorded it over the winter. We recruited my long time musical soul mate and Solid Gold Eagle member, R.P. Schowe on drums and Nils Petersen on all the instruments he knows. This provided a solid backbone to place the other pieces on. I recruited jazz pianist, David Davila to play keyboards after hearing him track on "Indian Summer". He was in a band with Brock Carless previously called The Burgundy Boys. So, we got in contact with Brock and asked him to handle some guitar work. He in turn, contacted The Duke of whom is renown for just being an all around awesome guitar player to play the bass. Lastly, after all of her studies were done, we now have the lovely and talented, Veronica Dye on the flute. Don't talk shit about Jethro Tull or she will literally kick your ass. The members may go in and out but I am very honored to share the stage with these talented individuals. long may it live.
They will drive into your town like a raging 8 man thunderstorm, rock and shake your house until everyone bleeds then take all of your booze and women from your willing hands. These are not mere mortals. They have been known to drink enough alcohol to drown small elephants and smoke enough marijuana to put Snoop Dogg in a coma. Seriously, they don't fuck around.
"They don’t have trad verse-chorus-verse songs, per se, but rather mantric jams that conjure a primitive, Dionysian psychedelia that throbs and soars into rapturous, clangorous climaxes." -Dave Segal -The Stranger
