Versus: The Fashion of Conflict Resolution

This event occured in 2010. This performance is NOT part of the 2011 City Arts Fest.
Presented by The Heroes, Versus is a collaborative fashion event that brings the art of apparel to life in a series of multidisciplinary performances. Partnered with artists working outside of the fashion industry, designers will present series of original outfits and costumes built around the theme of resolving contrasting ideas. Carrier pigeon vs. text messaging and science vs. religion are just a few examples you’ll see negotiated on the runway, complemented by original music, poetry, dance – and even fight choreography – created by the designers' collaborators.
Participating designers include Bri Seeley, Angel Gehm, Paige Sandilands, City Arts magazine's own style editor Marie-Caroline Moir and more. Don't miss the chance to preview - and purchase - new designs by these folks, and enjoy an amazing buffet of artistic experimentation all in one festive evening, complete with Versus-themed cocktails.
