CULTURE CLUB: Pie Life
Everyone has a pie story, whether it’s about grandma’s secret recipe, dessert with the president, or a big fat slice of humble pie. Pie Life asks a local politician, writer, food critic, and musician to tell us their favorite pie stories. Once storytime is over, we’ll fill our pie holes with fresh-baked treats from the best pie-makers in Seattle--you! Bring your best pie recipe and be eligible to win prizes, fame, and pie-glory. Pie banquet and country dancing with the Tall Boys to follow, and limited edition handmade zines of the stories and recipes will be available. Hosted by Kate Lebo and KUOW’s Jeannie Yandel.
To enter the pie contest, send your full name and e-mail to pie@cityartsfest.com and bring your made-from-scratch pie to Fred Wildlife Refuge between noon and 1 pm on October 22. We'll award prizes based on taste, appearance, nostalgia, and overall awesomeness.
